Michael Hungbo — Senior Technical Writer

I've always valued clear, concise writing and documentation because they make my work, and that of others, less laborious. Because I come from a software engineering background, I approach every technical writing project with a developer's perspective. I write specifically for technical audiences, translating complex engineering concepts into clear, accessible, and actionable documentation for developers.

My experience spans Fintech, Developer tools, and SaaS platforms. Over the past five years, I've helped engineering teams build better developer experiences through API documentation, technical guides, knowledge bases, and developer-focused content.

Hackmamba × Mitek Systems

I co-developed the full documentation system for MiVIP (an identity verification platform by Mitek Systems) from the ground up. This involved organizing the information architecture, as well as developing a style guide and core API references on ReadMe.com. Consequently, this structured, developer-friendly documentation reduced customer support overhead by 80%.

The Good Docs Project

As the Working Group Lead for Chronologue - a project within TGDP that utilizes standard templates to create real-world documentation - I coordinate a distributed team of technical writers across multiple time zones through weekly meetings and peer reviews. Additionally, I serve on the Project Steering Committee, contributing to strategic decisions regarding project direction, documentation standards, and community guidelines.

Here's what people have to say about me

Michael has a rare mix of developer and writing skills that makes him extremely versatile. What really stood out was his attitude, he received every edit and piece of feedback thoughtfully, without ego. His work ethic and enthusiasm made him a genuine joy to have on the team. 10/10, I'd work with him again in a heartbeat.
